Serving at Jesus Festival: A Guide to All 20 Volunteer Teams
From the prayer tent to the parking lot, it takes hundreds of hands to make two days in a park happen. Every team, who it suits, and how to join for 2027.
Jesus Festival Hamilton is free for everyone who walks into Gage Park because hundreds of people give their time to make it happen. In 2026 the festival ran twenty volunteer teams, from the prayer tent to the parking lot.
If you have ever wondered where you would fit, this guide walks through every team. The 2027 dates have not been announced yet, but you can find your team now and be ready when roles open.

Ministry in the moment
Prayer Ministry Team — minister to people who need prayer and encouragement, often at the Prayer and Healing tent. Freedom & Inner Healing Team — pray with people carrying deeper wounds, bondage or grief. Baptism Team — serve at the baptism tank, where more than 50 people were baptized in 2026. Evangelism & Outreach Team — share the Gospel and connect with people across the park.
These teams suit people who are steady in prayer, comfortable talking about Jesus, and ready to be fully present with a stranger.
Welcome and care
Greeting Team — be the first smile people see when they arrive. Information / Jesus Festival Booth — answer questions, point people the right way and share what is happening. Children & Family Team — help in the kids area, watch the bouncy castles and keep children safe and joyful. BBQ & Food Service Team — serve food and drinks to guests; in 2026 that was more than 3,000 free hot dogs and drinks. Free Clothing Booth — give clothing away freely to anyone who needs it.
These are for people who love hospitality and notice when someone looks lost.
The people who make it work
Stage Setup & Teardown Team — prepare the grounds before the festival and return the park afterwards. Grounds & Cleanup Team — keep Gage Park clean through the day. Parking Team — direct traffic and keep arrivals flowing. Security & Safety Team — help keep everyone safe. First Aid & Medical Team — a natural fit for people with first-aid or medical training.
If you would rather carry a table than hold a microphone, these teams are where the festival is won or lost.
Stage, vendors and story
Stage Management & Artist Hospitality Team — keep the bandshell schedule running and care for the worship leaders and speakers. Vendor Setup & Hospitality Team — help vendors set up and look after them through the day. Video & Photography Team — capture the moments and tell the story of what God does.
Leading the volunteers
Festival Coordinators, Event Leads / Rovers and the Volunteer Organizer Team keep everything connected — moving where they are needed, solving problems and caring for the people who serve. If you have led teams before, these are worth asking about.
How joining works
On the volunteer page it is three steps. Choose a team. Share your details — name and email are required, and you can add a photo, which day you can serve, your times and a skill. Then an organizer reviews your request before your name goes on the team sheet.
