What Is Jesus Festival Hamilton? A Plain-Language Guide
Who runs it, what actually happens in the park, what it costs, what happened in 2026, and what is known about 2027 — answered straight.
Jesus Festival Hamilton is a free, family-friendly Christian festival held every year at Gage Park, 1000 Main St E, in Hamilton, Ontario. It is worship, prayer, baptisms, free food, a kids area and a lot of neighbours on one lawn — with Jesus at the centre of all of it. It has gathered every year since 2024.
That is the short answer. The longer one matters too, because people ask it in a lot of different ways: Is it a concert? Is it a church? Do I need a ticket? Is it for people who are not religious? This guide answers each of those as plainly as we can, using only what the festival has already published.

What actually happens at Jesus Festival?
Worship is the heart of it. Bands and worship leaders take the George R. Robinson Bandshell, and the music is aimed at God rather than at a crowd. Between sets there are testimonies, short Gospel messages and moments of prayer.
Around the stage the park fills up. In 2026 there was a Prayer and Healing tent, a kids area with bouncy castles and games, a vendor row of Christian ministries and local businesses, free food and drinks, and a baptism tank in the middle of the park. People who wanted to be baptized could step into the water the same day, with someone there to pray with them.
In 2026 the festival ran across two days: Friday, September 4 was Pure Worship Night from 6:30 to 9:00 PM, led by Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, and Saturday, September 5 was the full festival day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every Jesus Festival Hamilton so far — 2024, 2025 and 2026 — has been free to attend. There is no ticket and no entry fee. In 2026 that included free food, more than 3,000 free hot dogs and drinks, a free kids area and free prayer.
It stays free because churches, volunteers, businesses and individuals give. Nobody is asked to pay to hear about Jesus.
Who is it for?
Everyone. That is not a slogan; it is how the day is built. Families come for the kids area and stay for the music. Christians come to worship alongside people from other churches. And a lot of people come who would never walk into a church building — which is exactly why it happens in an open public park.
You do not need to belong to a church, know the songs, or believe anything to come. You are welcome to listen, eat, let your kids play and leave. If you want prayer, someone will pray with you. If you have questions about Jesus, someone will be glad to talk.
Is Jesus Festival a church?
No. It is two days in a park, carried by many churches and ministries standing together across denominational lines. The festival is a moment; a local church is a presence. That is why every year ends with the same encouragement: find a church, and keep going with Jesus after the stage comes down.
Where did it come from?
The first Jesus Festival Hamilton was in 2024. What began as a vision for a gathering with a few churches drew thousands of people to Gage Park. Food was shared freely, people were baptized, and lives were given to Jesus.
The second year, 2025, carried that momentum into everyday outreach through groups like Love on Hamilton, with record numbers of people taking the love of Jesus onto the streets.
In 2026, early reports counted more than 70 people giving their lives to Jesus, more than 50 baptisms in the park, and many testimonies of healing and freedom. Every one of those numbers is a person.
Is there a Jesus Festival outside Hamilton?
Yes. 2026 was the first year of Jesus Festival Niagara. In recognition of it, the City of Niagara Falls lit the Falls in yellow, the Jesus Festival theme colour.
The wider Jesus Festival Movement exists to help other cities do the same thing: gather their churches, lift up Jesus in a public place, and keep the mission local.

The 2027 dates, location and lineup have not been announced. We will not guess at them. Every Jesus Festival Hamilton so far has been at Gage Park, and the 2026 festival took place on September 4–5.
