Behind the festival
Why Jesus Festival Is Free — and Who Makes It Possible
No tickets, free food, a free kids area, free prayer. Someone pays for all of it. Here is why the festival stays free, where the money goes, and how giving works.
Every Jesus Festival Hamilton so far has been free. No tickets, no entry fee. Free food — in 2026, more than 3,000 hot dogs and drinks. A free kids area with bouncy castles and games. Free prayer. Free parking in 2026 too.
None of that is free to put on. A stage, sound, food, a kids zone and a park full of volunteers cost real money. So people ask a fair question: why is it free, and who pays for it? Here is the honest answer.
Why there are no tickets
Because the good news of Jesus is free. Grace is a gift you cannot buy, so it would be strange to charge people to hear about it. A ticket price would also quietly decide who gets to come — and the people we most hope will wander into Gage Park are often the ones who would never pay to.
Keeping it free means a family on a tight budget, a teenager on their own, and a neighbour who has never been to church can all walk in on equal terms.
What it takes to put on
Sponsorship and giving help fund the stage and sound, worship teams, food and hospitality, the kids zone, community outreach and event logistics. Hundreds of volunteers give their time across twenty teams, which is the largest gift of all and never shows up on a budget.
Who makes it possible
Churches, businesses and individuals. Churches give people, prayer and support. Kingdom-minded businesses sponsor the festival. And individuals give — whether it is ten dollars or ten thousand.
Where the money goes, and how receipts work
Donations to Jesus Festival are collected through e3 Canada, a registered non-profit organization, which provides tax receipts. All funds given for the festival are used strictly for Jesus Festival.
You can give online through the donate page, by e-transfer, or by cheque; the donate page has the exact details. Please add the note “Jesus Festival” so your gift reaches the festival.
For businesses: sponsorship
Business sponsorship begins with a minimum $500 charitable contribution. With your permission, approved supporters can be acknowledged on the festival website, and the team will guide you through the donation and eligible charitable receipting through the registered charity receiving your gift. The sponsors page has a short form to start the conversation; no payment is collected on it.
Why it matters
In 2026, early reports counted more than 70 people giving their lives to Jesus and more than 50 baptisms at Gage Park. Every gift helped put worship, food and the Gospel in a public park where anyone could hear it. Giving toward 2027 is giving toward the next person who will walk across that lawn not yet knowing Jesus.
